Today is the birthday of the world wide web. The internet was originally developed as a network for “scientists around the world to swap, view and comment on their research.”  The technology was opened up for wider use in 1991. Interestingly, the founders/developers are not completely happy with how the internet turned out — for example, the fact that the internet is used for advertising.
